Corte Alta winery was created by the Accordini family, who have been producing wines for four generations. The project was started in 2008 and is the result of innovative ideas of Giacomo and Paolo, joined by Marco and supervised by Daniele and Tiziano Accordini.
The winery, located in the hills of Fumane in the village of Cavalo at 550 metres above sea level, has 25 hectares of vineyards all growing classical varieties of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. The desire to reflect traditional values of this area and to give a stronger identity and uniqueness to the wines has urged the company to create a small experimental vineyard containing old re-discovered grape varieties from a precious wine growing culture specific to these hills. The new vineyards are situated between Cavalo and Mazzurega and have been producing wine since 2003. Vigna Tornidora, Vigna San Zeno, Vigna Camparol and Vigna Corone are identified as classic wines produced in the individual vineyards, thereby expressing the uniqueness and character of each single Cru.
The new winery constructed in 2010 manages all phases of wine production from harvesting the grapes, ageing in barrels and barriques, through to the final bottling stage, controlling the entire production process and guaranteeing consistent quality of the wine.
The winery, surrounded by vineyards and in a splendid panoramic position with an extraordinary mountain view to the rear and a terrace overlooking the City of Verona to the front, creates an ideal combination of Art, Wine and Territory.
