Azienda Agricola Poggio Brigante
The Tuscan Maremma, with its wild hills on the Uccellina promontory and on the Argentario Coast, is the cradle of a great appellation: Morellino di Scansano. Here, in Magliano in Toscana, in these places where the country tradition is still alive, Franco Rossi and his son Leonardo run Poggio Brigante Farm since 2001, called after the hill upon which it is located.
Poggio Brigante cultivates about 25 hectares of vineyards located 200 metres above the sea level, mainly on a clay soil. The main grape varieties include Sangiovese, Syrah, Alicante and Vermentino.
The winery carefully controls all stages of wine making - from ripening and selection of the grapes until bottling, using the most modern machinery, stainless steel tanks for fermentation and barriques for ageing.
