Veglio Michelino & Figlio

Veglio Michelino & Figlio is a small, family-owned and run vineyard located in the beautiful Piedmont region in northwestern Italy. The winery produces red and white wines using traditional techniques inherited from previous generations.

Since the late 19th century, Veglio Michelino & Figlio has created a strong identity with the territory of Langhe producing the wine in three municipalities of Diano d'Alba, Serralunga d'Alba and Mont Albert.

Osvaldo Veglio, the son of Michelino and the current owner, brings his experience as a winemaker, thanks to the help of his brother Mark and supported by his son Simone.

The farm does not use chemical fertilisers and aims to produce the wine in the most natural way possible.

Veglio Michelino & Figlio also produce 3 wines with lower content of histamines – Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto d’Alba and Dolcetto Diano d’Alba (containing no more than 0.5 mg of histamine per litre versus average of 10 mg). This result is achieved by using grapes that naturally have lower histamine levels and ageing the wine in stainless steel tanks instead of wood. Due to a lower content of histamines, the wines can be drunk by people who are allergic to histamines and who usually have headaches as a result of drinking red wine.
