After one year of being the owner of the land on the slant of Russiz Inferiore, Hektor Ritter gave the domain as a wedding gift to his daughter in 1869. By 1877, the property is totally laid out in accordance to the plans, which were developed by Elvine's husband, Count Theodor de La Tour. The complex of buildings includes 2 main areas. There is the estate with winery and stables on one side and the villa – castle with its park, school, Church and spinning mill on the other.
The vineyards of Villa Russiz are an essential part of the stunning Collio scene, in an area that is especially useful for grape growing, by virtue of its optimal atmosphere and the sorts of soil present.
Count Theodor instantly perceives this area as being especially good for the development of vines and the production of top quality wines. The coffer is the first fundamental body of the winery. The wines age beneath large barrel vaults, in barrels of French oak from Allier, and include a Gräfin de La Tour, Chardonnay; a Graf de La Tour, Merlot and the Défi de La Tour, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Today, in this perfect environment, the team that works in the vineyards and winery at Villa Russiz is fully centred on the goal of getting a consequence of the most noteworthy possible quality, just like as Count Theodor did two hundred years ago.
